As a first time parent, I value the connections between my son and I through breastfeeding, skin to skin contacts and sensory activities. Also, he taught me to be patient, kind and to cherish every single moments I have with him. Everyday is a new day and there will be something new he learned/say/do which I don’t want to miss.

Time. Time to clean, cook, socialise and to look after myself (eg. Exercise, Hair cut, meni/pedicure etc).
Also trying to find activities to keep bubba busy at home.

what you do for self-care: walk on daily basis, join mother’s group, Yoga for Mums/Bub, Personal Training so I can bring bub with me as well. Last but not least, don’t hesitate to talk to someone if you are feeling down.

Sometimes you will feel like you are trapped at home, have at least once a week Mums and bubs activity and self care will help you to leave home. Again, do not hesitate to talk to someone if you need to.

It is winter in Melbourne, flu/covid is everywhere at the moment. When both hubby and I caught them, try to support each other and take turns on caring for bub. Don’t stress about cleaning the house.

A Mother’s Voice” is a space to acknowledge, celebrate and most importantly, validate each woman’s experience in motherhood.

Though similar in many aspects, we acknowledge and respect that each woman’s motherhood journey is unique and different🌻
