Everything about motherhood is joyful but it’s especially joyful when I see my sons little face looking at me, showing me something he’s done that makes him proud of himself. It doesn’t matter if it’s balancing a rock on a shelf or putting his shoes on the wrong feet, the moments where you see your child proud of their accomplishments no matter how great or small are the most raw and beautiful moments of pure joy and self love.
I definitely find that comparison is the most challenging in motherhood, comparing yourself and your child to others is 100% the thief of joy. Worrying that everything you’re doing is wrong or not good enough, comparing milestones, weight, height, speech, screen time, bed times, food and diet to others and thinking maybe I’m not a good mum.

Getting fresh air and going for walks are very important for my mental health and well-being. I’m also an artist so a lot of my emotional therapy happens when I’m creating, whether it be cute foods for my son, painting a canvas, taking photos or just building and hot glueing cardboard houses and cars with my son, it’s an unbelievable release to let you mind be free in a creative space.
I also enjoy cleaning as a sort of therapy to clean up my surroundings it helps clean up my head space.
Try not to compare yourself to other mums, everyone’s lives are different and everyone is on a different journey.
Don’t be afraid to ask for help, you can’t be expected to know everything when you’ve never done it before.
Lastly hold & cuddle your babies as much a you want!
